Was ich hier eigentlich so mache...

Die NUI Galway studiert seit ca. 30 Jahren die Bucht von Kinsale. Bisher hat Prof. B. Keegan diese Studien geleitet. Der ist im letzten Jahr gestorben und zu seinen Ehren wurde das "Prof. B. Keegan Memorial Studentship" gegruendet

Dementsprechend ist meine Doc-Arbeit thematisch an die Bucht von Kinsale gebunden. 50% meiner Zeit werden fuer die regelmaessigen Studien des Projekts von Benthos und Gezeitenzone draufgehn. Das heisst, Wasserproben, Sedimentproben, etc. Den Rest der Zeit kann ich mir im Rahmen des Projekts selbst definieren. Klar werde ich irgendwie versuchen meine Bryos (Photos z.B. hier oder hier) reinzubringen.


What am I doing here?

The National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway) undertakes studies in the bay of Kinsale for about ca. 30 years now. Up to now mainly Prof. B. Keegan was working in that area and supervising PhD projects around there. He passed away last year and in his honour the "Prof. B. Keegan Memorial Studentship" was founded (, which I've now).
Accordingly the PhD has to be thematically linked to the bay of Kinsale. I will be spendig 50% of the time on the benthic and intertidal survey taking samples of water, sediment, etc. The rest of the time is to be defined by myself - and that certainly means working on Bryozoa if possible.
